Smithtown News Endorses George Demos
Brookhaven, NY- George Demos, the only Conservative Republican Candidate for Congress in the First District of New York, was today endorsed by the Smithtown News. The Smithtown News called George "steadfast in his conservative views" and "articulate, hardcharging, and unafraid." The paper called Demos' primary opponent Randy Altschuler "a bad candidate" and "an opportunist who stands for nothing." On the heels of the Rush Limbaugh and National Review endorsements, George Demos has surged into the lead in the primary as the only Conservative Republican in this race.

“Mr. Altschuler is a bad candidate for the Republican party and he will be a bad Congressman for Long Island.”
“Mr. Altschuler is trying to buy a seat in the House of Representatives. He moved here from New Jersey and decided to challenge Congressman Bishop thinking he is the guy he can beat.“
“The worst knock against him is that he amassed his fortune by founding a company that outsourced American jobs to India, a terrible practice that has undermined the American economy. But there are plenty more knocks against Mr. Altschuler. He never voted until he decided to run for congress; he was a member of the Green Party until he decided to run for Congress as a Republican; he was pro-choice on abortion until he came to run for Congress on Long Island, and now, in a switch, he is right to life. In other words, he’s an opportunist who stands for nothing.”
“As for the September 14 primary, Mr. Altschuler has ducked public debates with his two primary opponents, and he is the only candidate in this race who has refused to be interviewed by The Smithtown News. We think that is telling, and his evasiveness would make him a poor Congressman for Long Island and a poor candidate for the Republican party.”
